MSI GTX970 BIOS update released....

Hi

Not sure of any other fixes, other than what is reported about Windows 8 hybrid option but there is an updated BIOS available, as shown vis their live update app...

...it seems that you need to remove the NVidia drivers before applying it. I haven't done it as yet but it might entice some of you intrepid daredevils.

Im pretty sure you got to remove the drivers to get the other Flash to work, kind of a pain if thats the new way to flash cards. Personally always prefer via Dos, guess im skool

I've installed these just now, I'm pretty sure it's just a BIOS to fix the stuck fan issue some people were experiencing.

Not sure, it literally took 10 seconds and the screen didn't black out or anything. Pretty safe unless you get a power cut during those 10 seconds lol.

There's no DOS compatible version NVFlash yet that supports Maxwell, which is why it has to be done in windows.

My card already has the latest bios update. Bought from overclockers on Thursday.

Did it also have the sticker applied to one of the fans..? I did read that they intended to stop doing that after concerns that it might contribute or cause the fan issues which some people are reporting.

Yea, I have latest BIOS here as well, received card on Friday.

Sticker was still on Fan.

FWIW I decided to be intrepid and update mine, didn't think that I would notice a difference but as the cards are now being sold with that BIOS applied I thought that it must be ok to apply it.
Thankfully it worked..!

I have read MSI will still use the sticker but with a weaker glue.

It was so funny when we all got are cards in the first week and it was one of the first observations... Is it something Msi has done on previous cards? as it does seem like an unnecessary addition...
especially if you have to have guns like 8pack to easily remove it :cool:

Anyone know if this fixes the low voltages in SLI? Installed the Live update 6 which says I have version 25. It didn't say anything about 2 cards though... do I need to flash them one at a time?
