48GB RAM on Gigabyte EX58-UD5/i7 920 - working

Just a post to say, if anyone else with a Gigabyte EX58-UD5 and a i7 920 CPU is wanting to install more memory than the maximum supported 24GB, then they can. Just installed 6x 8GB modules for a total of 48GB.

How does the pc run with all that memory,any issues.

Exactly the same as it did with 12GB.

Why would you want 48gb lol

Going to run a few VMs simultaneously when I can be bothered to build them. No ram drives.

I've tried IMdisk (free ramdisk software) and it didn't make a VM running off it any (noticeably) faster than running off my Intel SSD. Did make some very nice benchmarks though.
