Running a new Corsair H100i v2 on a Ryzen 1600X (stock speed, not overclocked currently) on Killer X370 board. I know the fans included with the H100i are known to be poor but I wasn’t expecting them to be THAT bad
Replacement is the obvious fix but in the meantime I wanted to check acceptable fan curves / temperatures with you learned lot.
I’ve lowered the fan curve further than Corsair's 'Quiet' setting such that fan speeds stay at lowest setting for longer (i.e. 25% or around 900 rpm using corsair link software) until temp reaches 37C. This allows me web-browsing and other light use in relative quiet as temps don’t seem to rise beyond 35-36 with this use. Beyond 1000 rpm the fans get very noticeable and hard to tolerate when working.
Is it ok to run the CPU this ‘warm’ by default over an extended time? It’s hardly hot but is a bit higher than standard idle temps I guess. Beyond 37 degrees the fans ramp up normally so gaming and other load is kept in check.
Anyone else running similar fan curves?
cheers
