Hi all, What is the best cooling AIO please. no budget, just looking for the best cooling (no custom loops)

it is to be used with a 7800x3d and mounted externally of the case.

Artic freezer 420mm?, nzxt kraken elite, Asus etc etc

many thanks

Lian Li Galahad II non rgb version is currently the best I reckon - but cpu IHS is the limitation anyway. Want cool & quiet - custom loop and bare die is the only option.

More radiator area is always useful
So yeah artic freezer 420mm which is also
Thicker at 38mm than the usual 28--30mm ones
Would be good choice

I know budget wasn't a requirement
But thermalright are now making AIO
Not sure if there's a 420mm version but their 360mm frozen prism argb
Is only £55 which shows how much some other companies
Are shoving prices up by
Think there's about 4 different AIO models
If their air coolers are anything to go by
Their AIO may provide the same great performance
At a great price too

I've had a shock from AIOs though. I'm reading lots of issues with the Lian Li Gallahad pump, and my DeepCool LT720 pump was faulty out the box. I wonder if the company that makes the pumps has an issue or there's been a bad batch.

I'm tempted to either risk 'cheap' again and get the artic 360 AIO, or go stupid money and go for NZXT 360 or the EKWB Nukleus, bot at around £200. The Kraken on my 8700k has never let me down.

Some AIO are their own pumps
Others just rebadged asetek
So it's hard to keep track of which are which
And I think I remember an issue with artic ones too
Though from my admittedly bad memory
Artic dealt with it in exemplary fashion
Similar with ek
They have more experience than most with watercooling stuff
On the custom watercooling side
And done some AIO
but people have had issues with their stuff too

All things with a pump
They have more points of failure
Than an air cooler does
So if it fits inside pc case and clears ram etc
And it's not the absolute highest cpu
Sometimes something like peerless assassin, spirit etc
May be a better choice than an AIO

thank you all.

I went with the aritic freezer 420.. in my thermaltake tower 100 case
Just picked up the 360. It's very overly complicated install and instructions are crap, but it's not terrible to install. The fans daisy chain off the pump connector so pump and three fans all come off the one header. Not ideal, but it's only temporary. No RGB at all on mine either. Totally forgot to specify and didn't realise it until I was installing it.
