Before I begin, it's a long story and I don't intend in going into the details :p

I'm out of my depth here. I need a western cowboy suit in the next couple of weeks. The full kit, suit, cowboy boots, shirt, texan tie, stetson, massive belt buckle....the works. Something like Chuck Norris would wear in Walker Texas Ranger...i.e.

Don't laugh.

Now I have found a place in the states called Sheplers (www.sheplers.com) but the whole kit is fairly expensive and I'll probably be stung heavily for import duty and VAT. Is there anywhere in the UK at all, either on a high street or preferably online that does anything like this? I have searched but to no avail.

It doesn't have to be fancy either, it's just for a couple of days.

Thanks :o

Go to your Favourite search engine and try 'Line Dancing Clothes' then 'Country & Western wear' I'm sure you'll find everything you want at a reasonable price. :)

Sheplers is the best really, the delivery charges are very reasonble and I have never been stung for import duty myself, although there is no guarentee of this. The quality of their stuff is very good, you get what you pay for.

There is a big differance between some of the tat you buy here labled as 'western wear' and the real deal, Wrangler have a huge range of stuff in the US and Canada you just can't buy here, so far as I am aware.

Yeah from what I've seen Moeks you're right. Everything over here seems to be more "fancy dress" rather than the real thing. Besides, I can't find anyone that does the full suits apart from Sheplers.

Looks like I'll have to fork out for the real thing!

And for the record, I can assure you there are no brokeback mountain antics going on. My reasons are good and pure :p

My reasons are ...well I have a few, really I'm just a closet wannabe cowboy (from 'middle England') I suppose :D

I have quite a lot of stuff actually (much of it bought in the US when I've been there), maybe I will photograph my belt collection sometime, although I can only imagine the reaction I would get here.

Just make sure you don't dress up like that if you have a moustache, I made that mistake once, never tried growing my facial hair since though, god I looked like a full blown hillbilly.
