They don't respect the bushido code.

Case in point about just using other types of knife (from Australia):

"The teenager was described as a person with "complex issues" who had been involved for several years in an anti-radicalisation programme intended to counter extremist ideologies"

That worked well then...

Sort of amazing this is going to take until February 2025 to go to trial:

It's what happens when the funding for the courts, police and legal services are cut repeatedly in real terms for over a decade and you close down the actual court rooms etc.

IIRC there are serious cases (rape etc) that are currently waiting 2-3 years or more because basically the courts and CPS have been effectively gutted by the government "efficiency savings" and the likes of Barristers who left the profession or refuse to take on CPS cases because they actually lose money on them (IIRC they're paid by the hour spent in court or something, and that has to cover all their expenses including their staff, so the Sun etc like to talk about them costing £2k a day but don't like to mention that's really paying for several days worth of work by several people, and that a plumber can earn £500 a day with far fewer overheads and ongoing costs)
