I have installed the latest drivers and used the Aorus engine from Gigabyte to control the fan speed.

Even though the settings seem to work when I set them, once in a game the fan will throttle go up and down all the time.

Not if I should use different fan software?

I'm pretty sure the gpus firmware will overwrite the fan speed if the gpu gets too hot ie. Dangerously hot.

Test to see what sort of temps you are getting while playing.

General consensus is to use msi afterburner software for nvidia cards.
