looked at my login history on my microsoft account, its got a fair few failed attempts
looked at my security settings and they should be ok, decent password 2 step auth enabled etc

on the settings theres an option to remove password to go passwordless
is this worthwhile it says it will be more secure but im used to having a password

thanks

Just checked mine. It shows attempts from America, Germany, and Ghana in the past month. On going passwordless, MS have a help page here.

Microsoft said:
If my account doesn’t have a password, how will I sign in?

Once you remove your password from your account, you will need to sign in using a passwordless method like the Microsoft Authenticator app, Outlook for Android, Windows Hello, physical security keys, or SMS codes.
