Minecraft server on linux

Hey,

I hope this is in the right section of the forums.

my son has been playing Minecraft on a server i set up for him (ubuntu server) and it works great but he wants to play custom maps.

i have downloaded a few different types of maps but every time he joins the server with a custom map it kills the server and this is the error

I have tried a few different maps but it happens with them all. If i go back to bedrock map it works just fine ( I dont know much about minecraft sorry)

Could anyone help me with what could be going on?

Have you checked whether the map requires mods?

I also see the map seems to have different versions for Minecraft versions- Does that match?

Thanks for the reply. it doesnt require any mods that i can see but will double check also it says its for 1.20... am running 1.20.2

I don't know much about Minecraft servers or how you've downloaded the maps. But if you download then manually and place them in a directory then could it be a permission issue? Maybe try setting the file permissions on those maps to read access for everyone.

Have you installed it in the right directory?
Have you unzipped or untarred it (if required)? Of should it still be tarred/zipped?

Hey, yeah its under the worlds directory and i have tried it unziped and zipped

still cant get it to work. got a 6 year old going nuts at me hehe thanks for the help
