Hi

Going am5 at the end of the month and tbh for the first time ever picking a MB has been a bit of a minefield. PC is only really used for 2 games (I know how sad lol) and watching films and surfing. I narrowed it down to these

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/giga...ocket-am5-ddr5-atx-motherboard-mb-5bb-gi.html

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/msi-...ocket-am5-ddr5-atx-motherboard-mb-372-ms.html

https://www.overclockers.co.uk/giga...ocket-am5-ddr5-atx-motherboard-mb-5ba-gi.html

and also from another vendor the X670E MSI TOMAHAWK WIFI

All games are played over ethernet so if a particular board has wifi issues it isn't a problem, but any help will be greatly appreciated as from what I can see all manufacturers have some kind of issue atm on AM5

Thanks

How many m2 drives to you need as most of them have 4 ?

If you don't need anymore than 3 x m2 slots then this would be my choice for £210.

I went with the ASUS B650E-E (November 2022), it’s been almost problem free so far. If I was buying now, it would be between the ASUS B650E-E and ASUS B650E-F or a similar MSI board.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah in my heart I've narrowed it down to the E-E and the Carbon. Normally buy Gigabyte but they seem to be having a bit of a shocker this time around. Am on a b550 tomahawk atm as a bit of a stop gap and quite like it so might stay MSI

Another vote for Asus B650E Gaming E board, mine has been faultless in gaming and general use etc with my 7800X3D, great specs for the price IMHO.

FYI I use wired as well ,no issues with mine. I do use exp1 setting as well with my ram. :) .

Mmm that is interesting. Only 2 m2 drives and only will ever use 2, not a fan of using loads would rather just up their capacity. Will take a look at this MB

Carbon is only pcie 4 that would make mean lean towards the Asus which is pcie 5.

Yeah those tokens are key for life lol

Thanks, yes that board makes more sense now
Your welcome.

Ta add further, memory you ideally want 6000mhz c30 which is optimal for AM5, something like this.

What CPU will you be getting ?

I have the B650 Auros Elite AX and its perfectly fine. The only thing that I had issues with was the bare board Q Flash Plus but it supported the 7800X3D out of the box anyway.

No PCI-E 5.0 on the GPU slot but I very much doubt that will be an issue for many years yet.
