Hi Guys,

Today we are building up our brand new watercooled system, the "Ultima Plesiosaur". After recieving a lot of interest we are building one up to use as a demo system and to show what amazing systems we can build. The Plesiosaur we are building features GTX 580 SLI :D

Keep checking this thread as we will be updating it all day and throughout the week!

Step 1:

All the components collected and ready to built!

Very nice indeed, and neat, can I make a suggestion though to add at least 1 space between the 580's will make a massive diff to both cards temps, if poss 2 spaces.

We have run x2 580's on air in SLI like this with no problems whatsoever. Spacing would decrease temps however we have used reference design cards so that they pull in air from the front of the case and exhausted out the rear.

Nice job on the build pics :). I'd say you should add an option to add the GPUs to the water loops though since they're a bit too cosey in that build for my liking :p.

Watercooled GPUs would be difficult to acheive in this case whilst keeping the CPU cool as you could probably only add another single rad without modifying the case somewhat.

Could you add an option of water cooling the gfx cards, but I know it's going to be hard shipping out water cooled gfx cards, maybe a collection only service?

As above but we are creating a beasty tri SLI fully watercooled rig soon enough.

Looks cracking, but seems a bit pointless having all that fancy cooling stuff for a cpu which can be very comfortably cooled by an air cooler.

If there is any chance Nathan, some performance figures when you're done?

Sure man, we are testing the system right now and will have screenshot and more pics up soon.

Also guys, the mug is not for sale :p

Rumour has it that we are getting mugs made with the new style logo!

a lot of you are talking about watercooled 580's, this is our middle of the range WC system presently as we will be building a ultra high end version will GFX watercooled also :)

My order for 5GHz custom water cooling had now been cancelled due to rjk was correct about 5GHz was impossible. I will order a custom water cooling from ocuk only if they do both graphic cards gtx580 along with cpu as I think rjk is correct there about stable and guarantee 4.6GHz (no more than that) for 24/7 in use.

I just had to wait for the high end graphic cards become watercooled.

Sorry bulldog but something sounds greatly amiss.

Surprise they had phoned me ask me why did I cancel my pre-order and I had explained to them that I felt 5GHz is not guarantee overclocked and they had sent me via my email of their proof of 5GHz was stable (on air cooler but say it will be 65C on water cooling) here:
/URL]

They are very disappointed now as they think I made a mistake not to take it.

That is a laugable voltage for a system they will have to provide a warranty on. Good call cancelling.

So, does ocuk will make sure it all topped up before shipping out ?, do we need to top up water or change fresh water every year like a car service ?

The system won't need topping up when you receive it.

Like metioned above me, it is recommended to check your fluid level and top it up every 6 months or so. Obviously depends on how often the system gets used. You don't really need to do a full flush but once a year for that isn't a bad thing.

I was expecting to see the GPUs under water as well, but I guess it's not practical in that case.
Seems a bit odd to me though, watercooling the CPU but leaving 2 580 air cooled. surely they're going to be the nosiest parts of the PC whether you use custom water, high-end air or possibly even the Corsair H100? Especially considering they are reference design blowers, which I understand are good because of the rear exhaust design, but they're not the quietest type of cooler are they?

For that matter, my understanding is the the Black Ice GT Stealth will require quite high rpm (and static pressure?) fan to cool effectively. Wont that also impact on the silence? Is there really any need for the watercooling in this loop if it's not going to provide lower noise? Surely it's just added complication and bumps the price up? I didn't think SB chips were generally limited by temps as much as some chips anyway?

I'm trying to think of something posative to say to end this post...
Currently I've come up with: I like the colour of the case. :)

The Stealth GT radiators are desgined for low RPM fans, hence the name "stealth".

Watercooling both GPU's would never happen in this case without serious compromises in cooling capability. Having the CPU under water allows a lower overall system temperature.
