If oil comes from iran why would their attack lower oil prices?

Because there were questions over what retaliation Israel would take and when, and to hurt a country you might not only target their military installations but also wealth generating facilities! Ie oil supply infrastructure. Isn't that obvious?

I think the US stance has help calm things hence the reduction in prices.

Fundamentally I think the original statement was a bit misleading which has led to the confusion - prices did not fall because of the attack by Iran. They fell (only very slightly) after the attack because of the geopolitical aftermath of the attack and stance from US etc as mentioned, with the expectation of the attack having already been priced in.

No difference in prices here the little independent used to be massively expensive as much a 10-15p more than the supermarkets now they're all the same I don't even bother to look at the price anymore they're all the same i.e. expensive.
