Hi

Having just sold my Mac ( :( ) I have restored it to factory defaults using the original OS install CD

Under the options I told it to reformat the hard drive and install from fresh (I didn't want to give them my personal files etc!)

It's finished the main install (took about 45 minutes or so) and rebooted. It has now come up with a welcome screen, ready to set up the Mac and personalise the OS, shown below:

Is it safe to switch off at this point, pack it and ship it? If so, will it go back to this point when he turns it on? I hope so - this would mean that he can set it up under his name just how he likes it

I'm a real Mac noob so hence asking!

Many thanks!

Yeah, I used to restore these things at work all the time when we sold display stock. Just button it, and you will come back to that point next time you power it on.
