Hi. I have a Sherwood rd-6118r. I recently bought a PBS Subzero subwoofer, but I can't get any sound out of it. I connected a subwoofer cable from the subwoofer pre out to the LFE inputs on the subwoofer

Check bass management settings
Check your AVR is outputting a signal
Check the cable
Check subwoofer is powered on
Check subwoofer input is working
Check volume on sun isn't all the way down
Check volume on avr and subwoofer channel level isn't all the way down

What source are you feeding it, I can’t be sure (it’s a long time since my Sherwood receiver died) but I seem to remember the sub channel only being used if it was receiving a surround input unless you used the DSP to do virtual surround.
