Smashed the glass bit to my blender and although Tefal can send me a replacement jug, my gripe with this blender is that there was like a dead-spot when doing viscous things like purees and things didn't seem to flow towards the blade.

I use it for protein smoothies, blitzing nuts into powder, making purees/pesto/houmous and crushing ice.

My old blender was a Tefal fruit sensation. I will probably be using it as a food processor more than a smoothie maker but i would like to continue to use it as a smoothie maker.

Any recommendations?

I've got the Nutri Ninja BL488UK as it comes with 2 cups and a jug, so handy for doing individual
- it's also on sale for £70 at the moment, same price as the BL480UK which comes with just one cup.

Only time I've had it struggle was with the occasional unblended spinach leaf in smoothies, but other wise perfect for smoothies soups and breadcrumbs

These caught my eye on MC tv last week, but do not know manufacturer ?

Looks good for blitzing dry things, making batters/mixes and protein shakes/smoothies but how do those sort of things handle ice?
You need power if you're going to mix ice and not destroy the mixer.

If you can afford it, the Vitamix series are crazy powerful. You can turn frozen banannas into icecream just by blending them or make soup and the friction from the blades heats up the mix as it blends.

I dont mind spending more but if its going to be silly amounts more, im tempted to get a replacement from Tefal and then a separate cheap chopper for things like pastes, sauces and puree's.

The Tefel i have comes with the standard blending blades as well as chopping blade and grinding blade. It handles everything but viscous things fine, where it seems to create a dead spot where unchopped food never gets to the blades. So a half decent mini processor and a replacement jug may be the answer. I was hoping to see what black friday has to offer.
