The RX 7900 GRE as of 20/03/2024 - Not such a flawed product?

Oh... just realised, 2400 is 19.2 GB/s, slower than the IC's are capable of and slower than the stock 19.5 GB/s on the 7800 XT.

Maybe AMD asked him not to push it quite so far after giving him that GPU ;)

Yes seems odd keeping memory at 2400. Would have thought it would do a minimum of 2500

Yeah not on the GRE, which is odd, they all have the same 20 GB/s Memory IC's, its like AMD bought 10 million of them in bulk and use them on everything regardless of how fast the memory is set out of the box.

He has the 7900 XT running at 2650, that's 21.2 GB/s.

I had to turn my core voltage up to get to 2600 which dropped by core frequency by 100mhz.

Out of interest i downloaded the Resident Evil Demo, i maxed out the settings and turned the texture pool up to 6GB, that ended up using about 14GB of VRam, RT also on the highest setting.

Looks like an average of about 115 to 120 FPS, never really fell below 100 and high of about 140 outside of cutscenes.

RX 7800 XT, 62c, Hotspot 77c, 40 - 45% fan speed, 270 watts.

Compared to this..

Will be interesting to see what they release, that's faster than a RX 7900 XTX.

Seems a safe bet that the x900 XT class GPUs will be faster, and they might end up besting a RTX 4090 as well.
I suspect we won't see much in the way of performance gains, my guess is they'll use next-gen cards to reset prices so we'll see similar performance for less money.

My Sapphire Pulse 7900GRE just arrived... I'm glad I got a big case because it's a pretty big card!
Honestly I don't think I'll ever buy a top of the line model because if this is a relatively compact design I'm afraid to look at bigger ones...

Anything on the gamepass you guys think it would be a good benchmark to see the improvement from a RX 590?

Atomic Heart, Dead Space (The new version), Lies of P, Farcry 6

Not sure if they have actual benchmarks though
