I'm wondering, if you wanted to reach objects placed on very high shelves such as in that demo he played with the magic potions, or wanted to climb stairs or ladders, or climb up onto stacked boxes, if there will be a way of climbing in VR?

Look up "The Climb", I think Crytek are making it for Oculus?

I just watched this review on The Climb, very interesting.

The feet are planted in that game. It would be more immersive though if you moved your legs and feet on the spot, and got tactile or haptic feedback to feel like you're really climbing each rung of a ladder in front of you, and motion controllers in your hands holding on to the ladder.
