What do I need to make RGB fans work

Hi all,

Simple question hopefully, just want to make sure I buy the right thing.

I have a motherboard with only one 4 pin RGB header. Nothing is connected to it.

I bought some fans which use the newer 3 pin connectors.

What do I need to buy to connect it up, either a converter or a separate controller (and if I buy a separate controller where does this get connected to)?

Thanks

You sure you can't connect them?
Had a lot of phanteks cases
Never had any issues connecting fans/rgb strip
To the built in leds
They all had a jst connector
Even my current lian li case I have phanteks led strips
Then have added lian li al120 fans on the end
As both have an optional jst connector

Yeah, RGB fan connectors just not compatible with the connector on the case.

Had to go read about your p400 and your fans
To me anyway
The p400 has a 4 pin 12v non addressable rgb strip built in
The fans have 3 pin 5v addressable leds
Your motherboard has 1 x 4 pin 12v connector as mentioned

So to connect the fan leds to motherboard
Need
A 3 way drgb 3 pin 5v splitter cable
A deepcool rgb converter
This will give you the fans leds lit up
BUT you will lose the addressable function of the fans leds
Will be all one colour
Though should be able to change colour
Do effects like breathing, flashing etc in a single colour
