Hey all,

Just looking for a bit of help.
I recently got my hands on a new scooter. It's the Baotian BT49QT-7.

Ive worked out pretty much all of the workings of it, however Im not sure on one little display point.

On the display (with the speedometer), there is a little red LED light that has a small phone-like symbol next to it. And it flashes randomly every so often.

Does anyone know what it is?

Thanks,

Marky

Baotian BT49QT-7
A fabulous bright, smooth yet resilient coating to this model’s plastics, adds the perfect finish. Beneath, lies high energy CDI ignition to ensure an ecologically cleaner combustion. A punchy yet economical engine in conjunction with powerful progressive ABS brakes, makes this scooter an exhilarating ride.
Standard equipment includes remote starting, factory fitted alarm and ABS brakes. Top boxes are available as an accessory.

Interesting, The spec sheet I read didn't mention them.
I'll concede that point to you sir!

Some of these imported mopeds have a Phone light which lights up when your mobile is recieving a call by the frequencies used. So it could be that, would be strange for ABS to have a phone symbol next to it :p a lot of these mopeds are all from the same factories just branded differently, the more popular ones arelike this, Baotian and Sukida.

Is this so that if your on your scooter you know if someone is ringing you?

I just found a baotian forum and they say that when it flashes, it means your phone is ringing :p
Seems a little pointless, as by the time you've stopped, they'd have cut off :p

I think it's a really good idea, personally. I miss calls on my bike all the time, but I often forget to look at my phone when I get off the bike. If it alerted me when I was on the bike I'd know to phone them back :)

Sometimes I hear it (low speed or stopped) but anything above about 10mph I can't hear it at all.

Yeah I spose so :p

Yes you can but expensive :)

Woah what can it be like riding a bike with ABS? Can't imagine what it's like to just grab the brakes as hard as you can and not go ploughing into the road :D

I gather it's a bit like

eek!
*JUDDERJUDDERSKIPSKIPWOBBLEBOUNCE*
*JUDDERJUDDERUDUDUDUDUDRIKIKIKIKIKIKIIPUTPUTPUTPUT*
*stop*

I'm led to believe it's quite hair raising, but it does work :D

Can you not get bluetooth helmets?

You can, and earpieces, but it's not a big deal for me to be able to chit chat on the bike.
I'll just go without.

It could put you into rotten habits though, pulling the front brake mid bend on a wet day :D
