Am I sad that I want a DS lite due to the brain training game?

As titled - Im looking at getting a portable gaming device and the more I look around the more the DS lite interests me solely because of this brain training game thats out...

I know the PSP is supposedly technically the better platform, but is anyone else in the same situation as me? I just want something to while away journey times (1hr +) so want to get something to keep me occupied...

Whats better (I know its a loaded question, but I really dont know much about these) - PSP or DS lite - for someone in their late 20s whose really just after a distraction...

P.S. Whats the best prices to get these at nowadays?

TIA

Personally I have a PSP and it' really good as for portable gaming, but I'd recommend a DS for traveling purposes, you can stick it in your bag/pocket with no worries... with the PSP you need a box/cover & you can't just stuff it in your pocket else the screen will get ruined.

PSP has the better graphics, no doubt about that but I would n't swap my DS for one. Theres a great variety of games out there beyond your average FPS that would keep you going for along time.

hi my brother has one and must say the brain training prog is great fun and addictive you will love it m8.

I was very suprised how i liked the software my first thought was err here we go but i was totaly wrong, hope this helps.

cheers jay.

you see by my spelling on some posts i need it :D

Its a very good game, I have it for the Wii and thats better because of the multiplayer. The DS version is good if you link to another player.

For the money and quality of the DS you can't go wrong really. I own a few games for it and mostly use it at work when I have nothing to do and holidays/journeys. Lovely console.

the ds is an amazing console. It isnt as good as the PSP for multimedia features but for games, it just is awesome.

id definately advise you to get one, and pick up games like Hotel Dusk, Phoenix Wright, Trauma Centre, Cooking Mama. Even Pokemon is worth a...er...Poke ;)

I bought a DS for a bit of distraction back when Brain Training came out, it was very good for a while. Aslong as you stay away from the ones where you have to speak the colours then it's an alright way to pass some time, I especially liked that it had heaps of Sudoku puzzles.
And it strangely turned into an alright drinking game... :D

As said above though, get Pokemon aswell, then you'll be fine.

Excellent - overall it seems Im not that sad :D

I know the PSP might serve me better media wise, but Ive already got a MP3 player and I rather not watch a movie and fall asleep :p. Doesnt the DS have any MP3 capabilities?

Gonna have a look and see what I can pick up...

My missus bought a DS just for the brain training.
I also use it and it certainly does help to 'wake' the brain up.
We both agree that it's worth every penny even if it's just used for brain training.

to do things like that you need an R4 or a similar card

I bought a DS Lite for brain training specifically just last week :)

Cost me a hundred pounds total from a well known high street store that has yet to have intercourse.

Hi,

Can you give me a better idea how these work? Ive had a look and seen 3 types and dont know which is best - R4; G6 or numerous 'Supercards' - whats the easiest to us for my purposes?

P.S. Any more recommendations on 'games' to get? Dont want anything too childish...

Probably wont get one until Ive seen the new PSP lite in the flesh and can compare the two - must be similar games to this brain game on there, no?

Thanks
