What do you mean by "no offence"? How can I not take "offence" to this?

If in fact I am "attention seeking" then I have been doing so on several different forums for an extended period of time (and the only problems I have ever had with my posting style have been in the past week on OcUK).

Why do I "deserve all the abuse he [ I ] gets [get]"? (The spacing ["[ I ]"] is due to a grammatical error incurred when I posted in the correct format). Maybe people should try to understand that when people over-analyse the posts of another user they will spot traits more easily. Also I dislike to argue in a bad style. My use of brackets is generally to ensure that there could be no misunderstanding of what I mean (although many people disagree [I cannot see how it could cause confusion however]); is it not predictable (obvious [dare I say?]) that this practice will increase in argument? When one is in an argument (or debate [people would contest this I am sure]) one tends to have to be incredibly precise lest one be willing to waste hundreds of posts in order to sort out the posts which have misunderstood something; this is a possible reason for an increase in brackets.

..And just like that new copypasta was born.

Thanks for the compliment. I just post how I think, and I find it hard to understand why the other members of the forums (who dislike my posting style) cannot understand (and subsequently deal with) my posts.

Angus Higgins

Because you express yourself weirdly, in a way most humans don't follow as your sentences branch out.

Why not type that as:

"Thanks for the compliment. I just post how I think, and find it hard to understand why people who don't like my posting style can't understand and accept my posts.

Angus Higgins"

Because I do not think in that manner. It would require me to type my usual post out, and then reprocess the information to create a post that would be "acceptable" in the minds of some other people.

I didn't actually (that is not a lie before you try to state otherwise [I do not like to lie]). I was making the point that the "e" in the word "english" (your grammar) was not capitalised; it was intended to be surreptitious, but I do not know if that worked.

oh noes i'm being told off for my poor grammar by angus. i'll never live this one down. :(

at least that post is readable but still no need for that those levels of brackets. at least try and justify your usage by saying "this is me" and not bring words like "english" and "grammar" into it. your recent posts couldn't be further away from it if you tried.

and i thought you knew i was being sarcastic because of the (:p) on the end of your sentence. besides, everyone else knew i was being sarcastic because it's been shown they are just as dumbfounded as me by your previous post's content. :)

I never stated anything about the quality of my grammar, so I would not like to be insulted by you in some form of comeback (insinuation that my grammar is bad).

I did not know. The ":p" was to indicate that I did not want an argument (it acted also as an indicator as to the fact that I had made the amendment [it might have gone unnoticed otherwise]).

If you are a slow thinker with words and so have trouble expressing yourself, just take a few seconds at the end of your posts to make it easily understandable for the rest of the forums who don't think like you. Most of us use brackets once in a while, but your posts look like they are some kind of code.

Here is a post from Anugs-Higgins on another forum in a thread entitled "What cheered you up today?"

To be cheered up is to have an increased level of happiness. To analyse a day and become aware of when one is happy, and when one is not seems odd really. Smiling means you are happy, and I do not look in a mirror all day.

And I think this is Angus....

............... and you deny you are a machine?

Yes. I have posted several images of myself in the thread entitled "picture of yourself" which show me to be human (or what seems to be [I do not want a conspiracy, but I must be logical in my posts]).

(The image shown above is myself [while attending a course on Nanotechnology in Engineering {we were on a bowling excursion during the evening}]).

I think Angus-Higgins defunct sarcasm detector contributes to my Aspergers Syndrome theory.

He seems to have trouble reading the subtleties in the facial expressions of the smileys, a common symptom of of Aspergers Syndrome. ;):p:cool::eek::D

He's obviously the terminator with longer words and brackets.

Angus mate, you ever though about therapy? It's not normal to think and feel the way you do. If this isn't all an act, I'd recommend it to you.

I've started reading his posts in a robot voice in my head. "I must be logical" was the funniest bit. :p

Don't your mates get really annoyed if you talk like this? Come on, there's no need to be so formal.

They go to a different school now (I began my 6th Form career recently).

They used to mention how it annoyed them that I would pause when speaking to ensure that I picked the best word for the sentence, but I prefer to improve my English skills.
