It's a exaggeration but to continue that logic why not compare Daihatsu's top car, the Copen, to Lamborghini's top car, the Murciélago. Both are the top of the line for each company, right?

If I could level one critisism - the drivers were flakey initially, espessially the Vista sets.

hehehe same here but my video ram died proberly from then heat in my room over the summer and now have a shiney new ultra in its place i love free upgrades :)
 
Tried BioShock and I can confirm indeed the 2900 is definetly faster in DX9 XP just a touch, but im now using AA so it evens out in this game :D

Same here, drivers were really bad on Vista, the first few sets always crashed when doing nothing, basically nothing worked and stuff that did was awful.

To be honest ati couldn't charge any more for their 2900 because of performance if it came close to the gtx with AA's and without AA's on all games then they could ask for a price close to what gtx are sellling at but as it about equal to the 640 on most games winning some and lossing on others they had to price it about the same as the 640.

I was contemplating the same upgrade, personally everything runs super smooth as it is in Vista and i only really game and every game runs flawlessly so me personally it wasn't worth it.
