ABC1 TV Channel to close in 1 months time

Just read the news that this channel will be closing in 1 months time and im kinda of shocked as it almost always had something on I could flick to when the damn adverts come on other channels and if there was nothing eles on.

Its the only channel i know of which runs Home Improvement repeats daily and I dont care how many times i've seen the episodes It just still makes me laugh with "Tim The Tool Man Taylor".

No mention of what will replace it with the free freeview spectrum being available, its a pitty as I thought the channel had some great shows and would be around for along time it will be just over 3 years old after it first aired.

Anyone eles going to miss this channel ?
 
It must be crap if the best thing about it is constant Home Improvement episodes.

There are loads of other quality shows but home improvement is my personal favourite show and i'll always watch it if its on and nothing eles worth watching is on.
 
ABC1 deserves to close if only for the fact they have a break with 2 mins of the program left and then have no break between programs >.<

That and they also show things like Hope and Faith which make me want to scratch my eyes out.
 
I like ABC1, like its already been said, it ALWAYS got something watchable on, even if it is Hope and Faith.

It is however a crap channel, the evening run is just a repeat of the morning run and after about a month you've seen all the episodes of all the shows. Its only really good if nothing else is on.
 
Scrubs, 8 Simple Rules, Home Improvement. All shows you can flick over to and watch. Now it's going. Damn. I only watch E4, Film 4 and ABC1.
 
That is one of the most god awfull channels that ever existed, god, its brain numbing ****, I was telling a mate yesterday how much it sucked, he told me he loved it and wached it all the time :( he lost respect right there.

Good riddance.
 
I have to say it's one of the channels that I never watch on Freeview.
Here's hoping it will get replaced by something decent.
 
I did'nt think it would be 50/50 on the lovers and haters of the channel.

I would have thought there would have be loads more not want it to go than want it to go.

Just hope the disney channel puts home improvement back on as it would be a shame for it to totaly disappear from TV altogether, also some more of the other shows from ABC1.

It has some decent programs but they are all ruined with the ridiculous number of ad breaks they have

I bet it'll get replaced with one of those ****ing "free"view channels that you have to pay for, and clutter up your channel hopping with episode listings.
