I love the way if someone criticises a console they must be a fanboy lolz. Grow up. I have a decent specced PC, 360 and wii. The PS3 is just crap. Maybe you'll have a leg to stand on when MGS4/FFXIII come out.

Got the deal where you get extra controller, casino royale and black hawk down bluerays and 2 games which i obviously went for resistance fall of man and motorstorm, no brainer there

Obvious choices. The other one would be Warhawk from the PSN.

So far I'm loving the menu system. runs smoothly and very intuitive.

I'm not so much of a fan, but I can see a lot of positives in it too.

Note to 360 fanboys, this machine isn't for gaming priority i have a quad core 4gb machine for that which will give the 360 red lights .

That's fine, except you really haven't had many good games in the last 24 months have you? I think you've gone for the wrong console myself, but Blu-Ray is nice.

Also can you rip cds on the HDD in mp3? will it tag them automatically?

The PS3 has been out 12 months almost, still nothing out. Multi-format games have all been inferior bar DiRT, all current multi-format games are being delayed on PS3 over Xbox360 or Wii. I am a massive fan of the console itself, but it's the games that make the console and it's really poor in that regard. As for the Xbox360 not having games, 4 months in it had some blinding titles. It had PGR3 and CoD2 on launch day, both of which were exceptional titles, Oblivion, Burnout and some others in April. By August it had TDU and Dead Rising.
Whilst PS3 will get some great games, the ones we were expecting to be the 'big' games we've been waiting for have turned out to be just as poor as everything else (Lair and Heavenly Sword).

I'm not going to play MGS4/FFXwhatever not my sort of thing tbh.

PS3 is not a toy to be bought with your head, but your heart and deep pockets.

@Jihad, TBH mate, i don't give a stuff which games you like on the 360 or what not. GoW is the only game worth having that even comes to mind, its been out for 2 years now. Rest is avaliable on the pc. OH and perhaps forza2 as well...

PC is getting a lot releases now anyways like Bioshock (best story fps ever imho, HL1 matched and beaten) MOh airborne, WiC , cod4 , crysis all of which will be better on the PC compared to any console.

I'm not gonna defend my PS3 purchase, its a beautiful machine but not if you want to play the latest games on it, and the way i see it if you want to do that get a PC not any console.

Have you tried a PS3 as a media device? Pc's quite frankly suck in comparison. PS3 just does everything effortlessly out of the box and elegantly. We need more work to be done. Hopefully things improve for htpcs.

for everything the ps3 does do, there's a LOT it doesn't. Mr.Latte made a thread on the ps3 as a media device. id suggest you look for it, i made a nice long psot of what still needs to be done. in short, no, it doesnt do any where near everything effortlessly.

How many formats can the PS3 play again? Can it upscale over VGA? Can you customize the crap out of the image quality like you can with FFDShow?

The PS3 and 360 both suck as media machines if you haven't got a PC to support it, I'll however stick to using my PC, it's superior to my 360 for all things media and it was superior back when I had my PS3.

It's ironic how you can say a PC sucks in comparison to a PS3 as a media center when the PS3 NEEDS a PC to even function as one.

First and foremost, it's a games console. That's peoples problems. I can see it's a DVD and Blu-Ray player, infact, that's all it is at the moment and for some reason mine won't play some of my DVD's (when the 360 will) which is a shame as I much prefer using my PS3 as my playback device over anything else.

I don't know what WiC is, but if all those, only WiC and Crysis aren't being released on the 360. I also never had any problems running BioShock on the 360 as many, many people did on the PC. I don't know why you'd say they'll all be better on console, the only real advantage is mod support on the Internet.

Very true, as I've said, I love mine to pieces, but I can clearly see it's the worst of the 3 consoles at the moment.

Hope you enjoy it, I had a riot on the Xbox360 demo. I'm gonna get the SH on PS3, but I'm wary about the joypad for it, because it's been poor for every FPS game I've ever played. I can't wait for the new pads which have more accurate joysticks.

You still using that OCZ PowerStream PSU btw? If so, how's it going? .

BTW I don't think PS3 is that great a media center device, its definately bettered by the PC by a long shot, 360 isn't much better either.

The way I see it now.

For reference level gaming - pc
people you can't afford above - 360
occasional use + blue ray and generally everything eelse - PS3 (if you can't afford it get a 360 again i suppose)
if you are <5 year old - Wii

Those are my opinions so don't bothered questioning them

time to check if PS3 demos are leeched.

I like how people go on about getting a PS3 and there is only 2 games that is worth getting RFOM and MS, a console thats been out a year and they are the only ones to get.

I want a PS3 but there is no way I am paying £400 for a console with a couple of games when I can wait another 18 months and get one with AAA titles and a cheaper price tag.

Xbox 360 wise pound for pound gaming is great. The choice of games is very good and anyone who thinks not is obviously Anti-Microsoft. The 360 does what it says on the tin, where as I am wondering whats on the PS3 tin.

i dont know why, ive tried to explain this to people before. it isnt a games machine first and foremost.

you did ask. it doesnt boast about revolutionary gaming or graphics in gaming or anythign liek that. this is an entertainment device that is marketed as truely multi capable machine, not a games console that plays movies.

Its still power a quad core 4gb pc, very impressive piece of kit, no problems at all.

Yeah i'm not sayin for a minute that Ps3 has more games, it doesn't (unless you count PS2/PS1 ones as well)
£400 for 2 games isn't too bad.

360 would be the same because as far as I'm concerned thers only 2-3 games worth playing on either platform. You may think otherwise but i don't really care.

Ps3 still seems like a lot of bang for the buck when you consider the extras.

oh for the record bioshock on PC > 360 . period.

stranglehold demo is actually quite good. max payne rip off though lol

sure the 360 and PS3 are great at what they do but they offer nothing new , the Wii isnt designed for just kids its more of a social entertainment system thats extremely affordable with cheap software .. forget gfx the machine does what nintendo set out to do, bring back the fun

Possibly but the games on the wii are a bit silly when you are 20. Don't forget i'm used to pc games as well. so the option was 360 or ps3.
360 is more of whole pc gaming replacement (i.e. better than ps3)
but i'm looking to complement the pc not replace with a 360. Ps3 does a better job imho.
