because with online multiplayer Microsoft dont want to force everyone to buy a mouse and keyboard just to be able to compete.
which is less then successful FPS's released since GE was released.Bit of a stupid thing to say.
Take away the cerebral bore and Turok's arsenal can quite easily be forgotten.
not really, Im saying Goldeneye didn't exactly cause an abundance of high quality console FPS after its launch did it? where as since Halo launched there has been pretty much a constant stream of good to excellent console FPS.
That isn’t because of halo it happen because all of the home consoles finally had enough power to run fps at a smooth frame rate and with games like medal of honour and call of duty publishers finally understood they could make serious money if they made the fps to a high quality, ms was just another one of those publishers.
Other than Golden Eye and, more specifically, Perfct Dark!

which have been nothing like HALO so how does that work? A stream of FPS games has nothing to do with HALO but the cash cow that they are. Speaking of the really good titles. Metroid Prime had nothing in common with HALO but more so with GE. Some of retro's employees having worked at Rare, influenced by Nintendo and ended up 3rd on gamerankings games of all time. Thats just one example. Name me one game as good as that which was influenced by HALO in some way.

Check out the top 20 FPS titles according to gameranking. Far more of them are influenced by goldeneye whereas Halo is more influenced by Unreal.
So the throwing saw that actually decapitated limbs. (Before the AVP one even existed) The mine thrower that would blow the bottom half of a bad guy clean off. The nuke which would turn everything in it's radius to stone before cooking them, turning them black and then exploding. The Tek Bow (kinda a rambo rip off but much better and not used in a game before. ripped off by HL2 although more crappier). A Rocket Launcher that would blow a enemy into the sky. Then launching a secondry barrage of rockets which would blow the enemy into raining chunks of meat mid air. Developers just have no imagination these days.

What he is saying that if you look at the top 20 games on that website (of all time), there are more that owe to GoldenEyes influences than to Halos.Ok I actually have no idea what you're trying to say here, why is Halo in capitals? and what does Metroid Prime have in common with Goldeneye? and How on earth is Halo influenced by Unreal?!?
.

Goldeneye was the pinnacle of gaiming for me. To be honest I'd almost lost faith in video games then one day I brought a N64 and in the shop I saw a demo of goldeneye on one of the TV screens. I brought it and that was me locked in my bedroom for the next 4 months. Literaly my day would be getting up, going to work, coming home and spending the rest of the night working my way through the levels.
I've never played another game since that has immersed me as much, even Half Life. It probably was the closest you could come to a simulated James Bond. Groundbreaking game, perfect learning cave and amazingly designed levels.
Can't believe it's 10 years old now! Time certainly speeds up as you get older. Brings back many, many happy memories.
