Hey guys,

I know there are probably tons of threads here about peoples views on what happened on that dark day but just have been thinking a lot about this recently and trying to put a few pieces together. How many of you also think that the whole thing was a setup? When someone first told me that it could well have been setup I laughed in their face but recently there have been a few more things that got me thinking.

First of all, how come when the towers were did were explosions seen coming from every other level and also the basement?

These buildings were designed to withstand temps of over 1000 degrees C so how could they have came down in the explosion unless there were other explosions?

The aircraft that hit the Pentagon just 'happened' to hit one area that had recently been armoured with shuttered steel more so that any other part (i.e. where the rest of the top guys were located at the time of the crash')

Im sure there are loads more things but I'm just keen to get other peoples opinions on it.

I find it very interesting that Mr Bush brother was responsible for the security company that managed a lot of these high risk sites and also he apparently owned a company that carried out a lift installation in the towers two months before the attacks. What a good way to hide explosives. In the lift shaft? Would this explain the explostions on every level? I have been talking to a few civil engineers at they all seem to think that there must have been secondary explosions.

Some folks will probably say I'm so slow on the uptake but honestly until recently I'd never imagined there was any chance of it being a setup. Now I'm throwing it out as a possibility!

Opinions please!
Jonny

geekers im only realising now that we are actually into the 11th - of course I am considering the fallen too but these points are of interest and on topic also

I'll remember the fallen and what it meant to the world. I'll remember those who suffered and died, I'll remember those who still grieve. :(

This is not the time for a conspiracy thread, it can all be read in the previous one.

RIP
All that died in 9/11 and the war in Afghanistan.

Yes it's a day we should remember the victims of september 11th. RIP Brothers.

Some of my points: How do you control a large group of people? Ie, America. One Word. Fear. That, Is 9/11.

For goodness sake. If the American government had wanted a setup there were far better ways of going about it and acheiving whatever aims the tinfoil hat brigade seem to think they had.

Hear Hear.

RIP To the Fallen.

Feel really bad now - the timing of this thread isn't what I wanted at all. Didn't realise it was so soon to the date to be honest. And I'm not giving my real opinions on the story - it was merely throwing out a different side to the story.

I'm sorry but on the day and near it, we need to stop thinking of such stupid hogwash and remember the fallen.

Agreed.

I think it's almost an insult to constantly bring up these insane theories. The theories in question have been debunked many times.

Perhaps the most obvious reminder that this was indeed a real attack was the video of President Bush when he first learns of the attacks (that look on his face. It's almost impossible to fake. At that moment, he was seething with rage. There's no way that the President was "in on it" so to speak.)

With that in mind. It's best to use this day to remember the victims of terrorism, rather than speculate on how and why the attacks were carried out.

It happened. It was Al Qaeda. It was not the government and it was bloody awful and the perpetrators should be decapitated.

Also the buildings may have been able to withstand 1000 degs (not even sure if its true but i'll proceed) but probably not when a plane has taken out half of its support structure. Anyway, the 1000 degs quoted is the melting point of steel. The steel didn't need to melt, just soften. At 600 degs its loses over half its strength iirc.

No "explosions from the basement" have ever been documented as far as i'm aware.

I think you'd be exceptionally lucky to just be able to find out which part of the pentagon the american government was armouring....

And you really think the thing about the security company was true. Lets say for ONE second that it was true. Why on God's green earth would Bush be associated with it at all? Surely if the president orchestrated a massive fake attack, treason and mass murder he'd at least do a proper job so nothing ever got back to him, ie. not giving a "security contract" or whatever to his brother.

You really think the American government would make the biggest plot in history and do it so badly so that some spotty teenagers on the internet to examine grainy footage and incriminate the entire government?

Get real.

RIP fallen men and women. You'll not be forgotten.

Very strange coincidence that you should post this as I've just finished blogging about my visit to New York earlier this year, and though I'm very fortunate not to have any personal connections with what happened on that day, after I visited the WTC site I knew I could never make light of or speculate about it in the way I did so flippantly before. It's so easy with the way it has been used politically to trivialise it and be so distant from it, but I assure you if you actually thought about it you'd think twice about doing so. Especially today we should focus our attention on commemorating the lives lost and the families who still don't know what happened to their loved ones that day and give the idle speculation a rest.

How many of you remember where you were when you heard about it, did any of you see the second plane crash live? I did...
