Crashed Helicopter registered to Colin McRae

Tragic news. RIP all.

At a personal level I've got a Fabia WRC print signed by Nicky Grist that I had always hoped to get Colins signature on someday. :(

Absolute tragedy, as a keen rally fan, I've seen Colin many times, he is a great loss to Motorsport.

RIP Colin, thoughts to the McRae family.

That makes 3 world class British Rally Drivers that have died quite tragically.

Colin Mcrae - Helicopter Crash
Richard Burns - Brain Tumor
Dave Metcalfe - Road Accident

Theer was also that Co driver,I forget his name though

Not thatn they are Brittish but Rallying has had a few bads loses lately

my brother just texted me saying there are a lot of subarus congregating in lanark right now.

I was watching BBC News 24 earlier and as they were broadcasting live a precession of Subaru's turned up. They all parked up, and the drivers got out and laid flowers near the crash scene.

It was quite moving :(

Michael Park, Co-Driver to Markko Märtin, died when their car hit a tree sideways.

Rally boss in helicopter escape

The Subaru rally team chief and his wife survived unhurt when their helicopter crash-landed in Essex.
Police said Dave Richards and his wife "walked out of the wreckage" near North Weald Airfield and were treated for shock by paramedics.

Mr Richards, is chief executive of Prodrive, which runs the Subaru World Rally Team.

He was in charge when Colin McRae, who has died in a helicopter crash in Lanarkshire, won his world rally title.

Mr Richards and his wife were returning to their home at Banbury, Oxfordshire, after attending the Belgian Grand Prix.

Mill Lane alongside the field where the wreckage lies has been sealed off awaiting the arrival of Air Accident Investigation Branch staff.
