2900pro 512bit Interface Confirmed.....by HIS

It would have been easier for ATI to just drop the price of the XT to the intended pro prices, i suppose this way they grab more headlines and attention than just with a price drop.

Doesnt that mean if you get this card with the black box you will have to buy the orange box any way to get Portal and Team Fortress 2 or is it just Portal?

No. With the card you will recieved a voucher that will unlock

TF2
HL2 EP2
PORTAL
HL2

The black box is basically the same as the Orange.

It's meant to be on 55nm too. Less power/heat. EDIT <---- Disregard this as I got a little mixed up.

Cheers for giving us a little insight on the specs Gibbo. I'll be tuning in tomorrow to see what's what.

The 2900 pros in November will be on the 55nm process, not the ones due now as far as im aware, the ones coming now are still on an 80nm process.

DO NOT hesitate mate, all the murmerings are that this card IS bascially a downclocked XT so take advantage and sell your card now :)

I think the Blitz boards have been discontinued by Asus.

Gibbo should be able to give a clear answer as to what is going on.

Hi there

From what is currently available Abit IP35 Pro is one of the best boards and that is in stock. :)

Next board from Asus features X38 chipset and to give a clue as to its name here is a hint:-
"What we do in life echoes in eternity"

I am sure that will give it away as to what the new top-end X38 based board will be from Asus. :)

does anyone know if these will use less power and produce less heat? just having a shuttle with only a 350W PSU i have to be concerned about how much power it is drawing from the system. my X1900XT hasnt been a problem so far, but if these use less power then the 2900XT and around the same as the 8800GTS's then im sold.

if these can clock to the same as the XT then i think im in love ;)

They will probably only use less power due to the clocks but thats all! I would assume that when at XT clocks it would be about the same draw
