Cableforum are reporting that in order to gain some critical mass, Setanta will be available for free to VM customers who subscribe to the XL Package. All other packages will be a (reduced) subscription. Deal to be announced in the next week or two
Looks like said deal has now been announced.

Lies. Canucks 4TW.

Pretty sure Freeview only gives you one channel and splits the content from all of the Setanta channels meaning limited NASN action.

Canucks. LOL.

the devils are only in with a shout because of Brodeur too, if and when he leaves i think they will struggle for a few years, and inbetween we will see a penguins revival! go Cid the Kid!

anyway

is there any cheaper way to get NASN than buying NASN on its own for a tenner, or paying £15 for the full package? ideally i just want premiership and NASN and i have Virgin NTL thingy! thanks

Do you think it would be possible for me to get Setanta on a Sky Box in my Dad's name but with the Direct Debit coming out of my account?

Is the only thing you need on the online sign up the Viewing Card Number?

Also how long is it before it comes on using Direct Debit?

Thanks :)

Well if like me you have cable and subscribed before this offer you have to pay the full £15 until the 30 days are over. Then you can change the package.

One thing to note if it not already been mentioned the guy in the phone reckons NASN is not part of the new package. Its separate for £8/month.

A bit gutted NASN isn't included but its fantastic news all the same

Whilst Setanta still service NASN it is now owned by ESPN, hence the reason why it's not included in the Virgin Setanta package.

Flames to collect Lord Stanley this year :D

I've just ordered it under those circumstances. No problems. :)

Prem Plus was £50 for the season. Setenta is £10 per month :(

Only good point about it is for freeview customers. People with Sky are shafted, in our house we pay £52 a month for sky, no chance will we be buying Setanta which is a shame as I always watched the 5.15 games last season.

Same place as you infact thinking of geting rid of the movies and just have sport and music and sky1 and so on

Well i just got off the phone to setanta, cancelled my order before it started lol.

My intention was to get just a month at £9.99, like it says in their adverts, hmm
i got told i had to give 30 days notice to cancel, meaning two payments of £9.99...
i said ok reluctantly, they took all my details, then told me i would also have to pay a one off 'setup' fee of a further tenner.

i think the ads misleading, thinking you can switch on to them for £9.99, when in real terms, its going to cost everyone £29.99.

Bring back Sky season tickets!!!

Comparing this to the £50 for Prem Plus last year isn't really a fair comparison though.
You could not get prem plus without signing up for a ton of other stuff as well.

The entry pricepoint for football on sky is ridiculously high because of their insistence on bundling a whole load of other channels - remember you cannot subscribe to Sky Sports without taking 2 other 'mixes', so in order to get any football you have to take a load of "entertainment" and music channels too.
This unfair bundling is really the area the European commission should have focussed on.

With Setanta I can get access to some Premier League football for around £90 for the season. This has never been possible with sky.

Setanta are a joke. £10 a month to watch maybe one premiership game per week?! No thanks! I would much prefer a pay-per-view option like Prem Plus than this Setanta ***p!

Completely agree Bruce, though I don't think there's much Setanta could do about it if you refused to give 30 days notice. I'm sure it says somewhere that you reserve the right to cancel the direct debit at any time, they are probably just trying to con an extra £10 out of you. I'd fight it.

I know i rang up to cancel after an impulse buy and they told me i couldn't till 1 month was up then they need 30 days notice. On a positive note i heard on the radio that Arsenal TV will be on setanta.

Indeed my mate was tempted as its gonna have Liverpool TV and it'd be good to just be able to watch football anytime as i believe they get a lot of the German and Portugeuse league aswell
