They don't ask for a reciept, but you can prove it's date of purchase with a reciept, however it's up to you to provide it and not for them to ask for it.

You need to ring up. The website is for US customers only.

Mine is over a year old, and I bought it on ebay to replace the unit that died before.

So I would not have the original reciept. hopefully they won't be funny with me or i will go mad on them..

think when I get it back I will be trading it in for a ps3 just don't need the hassle anymore

a) They won't, you have 3 years and the console is less than 2 years old.

the website handles UK stuff. I just used it just switch the version at the top of the page to UK and sorted.

microsoft will say it will take a couple of months.
You may receive it back sooner though as they only say it takes so long so as to cover their backside if it does take a while

I wouldn't know, I'm only going off opinions I have read on here, never had to use it so far thank God. However I'm sure you could say most services are 'mostly excellent' as every company has a few nightmares

On a side note, does anyone have the number for Sony for a replacement console? My box is up in the loft and there's so much stuff all over as we are sorting the final 2 bedrooms so I don't have access to the forms about it. Gonna send mine back

Faulty. I have a duff DVD drive that chooses when to and when not to play DVD's, some it won't read at all. All these DVD's will play perfectly fine in my Xbox360, DVD player or PC too, so it's not that. It's just become so annoying now that I would rather get it changed now before it either gets worse, or before the christmas sales. I've also had a few crashes and it's starting to bum me out now.

Didn't want to start another 'oh noes the dreaded 3 lights' thread so i thought I'd post in here

My sons 360 started with the 3 lights yesterday, we got onto the help line and they tell me it's a common problem and will arrange for a courier to collect it. Just wondering if they'll ship a new box or if they'll attempt to fix it?

What ever they are doing will take 28 days, i should have asked i know, but i forgot

You'll probably get a refurb in your original case. You might also get a new HDMI style Premium, it really just depends what they have in when your box arrives.

Just got 3 red lights myself... going to send it off for refurb/repair its a launchday console, but from my understand MS are willing to extend there warranty to cover all consoles.

Even the fanboys accept the Xbox 360 has a design fault (if they don't then more fool them).
Of course there are going to be faulty PS3 but obviously nowhere near as many as there have been with the 360's.
The PS3 has sold nowhere near as many 360's therefore, less to go wrong

Dunno if this is of interest to anyone but sent off my 360 with the 3 red lights last tuesday and got it back today! So exactly 1 week. Took 3 weeks the first time. And it's the same 360 I got back not a refurb.

I think when people say that they're talking about the 360 having games worth playing, not about reliability.

Well! My time has come,

I really thought, I would never add my 360 to the list but it finally went on Monday, called Microsoft and to their credit they sorted it out in 10mintues.

They sent me an E-mailed with a postal note, I called UPS and it was on its way back, yes the console has a major problem that fact nobody can challenge but you also cannot challenge the support they give to sort this issue out.

It really has come at a bad time Halo 3 in a week and demo’s I really wanted to play coming thick and fast, but what the hell, its only a console (that to me is the point so many miss) and it’s getting fixed for FREE so no loss. Just got to dust off my mouse and give TF2 a blast I guess.
