Frontlines: Fuel of War

im really enjoying it when i do manage to get connected to a server,i see a lot of potential in this game for anyone who loves BF2.
I love BF2, but I think I prefer the Crysis beta over this beta. Then again, I've not played enough of either of them to judge properly yet, especially FFOW which I've logged about 20min on so far in total.

Just got this installed, but it crashes on start-up. DOS window flashes open then closes. Im not running under Vista btw, as some people have trouble running it under it. Anyone else experiencing this?

EDIT: Managed to catch on screenshot of the DOS window for a split second:

still downloading this:rolleyes: 2mb connection and i'm on 60-80kb/s on 'fileplanets blisteringly fast server' my ******* arse :p should be finished in another hour and a half, and then maybe i'll be able to play without too much of a hitch :(

What a load of pants!!!

I can't even deploy?

I mean, whats the point in putting a demo out for testing when you can't even start the game!

Pffffff

I just read this over on the beta forum

"You can also try to hit the Tilde-key (~) and write Reconnect. That MIGHT get you a bit further."

worst beta ever.

It seems to me that they have decided to bring an unfinished game forward 6 months to try to get in the Christmas demand. I'd laugh if it wasn't so frustrating.

There's only a choice of 7 servers. None of the EU servers work. Only the American and Australian ones do but there pings are way too high.
Even with a 3ghz c2d and a 8800gtx all set at medium it runs terribly. I cant believe a serious company would try this stunt, maybe they have been working with EA too long.
Anyway its for the bin and never too be played again even in retail.

It plays great everything@high 1680x1050 with my 2900XT and [email protected]. It's quite funny that it doesn't work well with your GTX.

I think people are forgetting what a beta actually is and are expecting a full working retail game when playing this...

The problem is I expect to be able to play it beta or not. The fact is that I'd be hard pushed to call it an alpha.

I think most people expect glitchy gameplay and whatnot in betas. What they don't expect is to not be able to navigate menus or even be able to play the game itself.

I would wager a guess that there are more people unable to play than there are those who can.

If you read their beta forums, it's been suggested that we're to just play in single player mode (just the map, no bots) and beta test from there. Ha. Whatever.
I consider a beta test a two way relationship. We test the game for free and in return we get to play a game for free.

The way they have it now is we can beta test the map for free but can't actually play the game. Fun.
