The fruit drink.. is it good for you?

I normally have a badish diet when it comes the drink, very little water and lots of fizzy drinks (mainly 3x 2litre tesco lemonade).

Decided that was bad and have changed and now drink about 6 litres of ornage + pinapple robinsons (1 juice to 4 water) and now my errm bowls are a bit looser.

So is robinsons juice drink good or bad for you?

As said above, anything is fine if it's in moderation, but if you're worried about sugar etc. then just get Robinson's no added sugar and make sure you don't drink so much that you get tartrazine migraines.

The sweetener in the sugar free range is a laxative, it's pretty nasty stuff :)

Might be best to switch to the sugar range but drink a bit less of the stuff. I like the supermarket brand hi-juice range :)

Edit: I didn't think they used tartazine (E102) any more?

So thats what that annoying head ache is!!
I don't want this to turn into a medical thread but sensitivity to tartrazine is one of the many things that triggers my migraines, I get that if I overdo the orange juice (and pretty much anything with orange food colouring I think.)

I drink it 1:1 if not more. Tastes rubbish otherwise!
LOL! I used to take my orange that strong as a kid but now I take it something like 1 part orange juice to 9+ parts filtered and/or bottled water. I've gotten quite used to the weaker taste but, as I said above, it's mostly out of necessity. :p

Anything with high sugar (fructose, glucose, sucrose) cause high insulin spikes.

These are bad because during high spikes of insulin, your body is programmed to store a high portion of incoming energy (calories) as fat. To make things worse, after an insulin spike you have an insulin crash. When your insulin crashes, you feel hungry again making you eat more food. This again, promotes fat gain.

Best option is to drink water, with the occasional glass of Robinsons/other fruit/fizzy drink.

In the quantities you're drinking it you're getting through over 1 litre of concentrate a day with sounds excessive to me. Try drinking less of it either by making it weaker or by just having less.

Oh and switch to apple and blackcurrant, it's much nicer :p

Tbh, it's all about tap water, chilled in a fridge.

However, if you must flavour it, stick in 1/4 a glass of Tesco Value pure orange juice (the acid stuff for about 30p) then fill up.

Much better than squash imo.

4 -1  that's stupidly strong. Most of that water will be used to flush out the sqaush.
I drink 3lr a day and get through just under a 4lr bottle a week.

So about 1 -8 ratio, any stronger than that and it's like drinking
liqueurs straight without the alcholo.

Obvious but just in case, make sure it's the no added sugar version. Remember fruit is very high in natural sugar, at that quantity, your taking a HUGE amount of calories in through your drink. Even if it doesn't have added sugar.
