i feel like im going to die , only food ive got in my cupboard is rice

what can i eat with my rice thats cheap lol ? chicken ? what can i do with it to stop it been so plain ?

i bought pots and pans and stuff but havent even used them yet

id google but this internet is so slow it actually times out searching on google most the time

please help me OCUK :D

Put soy sauce with the rice and eat it?

Or spend £1 on some vegetables, fry them and bung them in. Stuff like carrots, onion, broccoli, mushroom, courgettes. If you can afford soy sauce to put in it as well - it's a great meal!

Get some cheap fish (stickleback or anything that's cheap), a few cabbage leafs or a bit of dock leaf and make your own sushi!

Healthy AND you'll impress your mates at your culinary skills.

go outside to the city centre and find a large open space, throw some rice on the floor, wait and then clout one of the pigeons that are likely to appear with one of your new unused pans.
Now you have something to go with your rice :D

Other than that, chicken fried rice? all you'll need is some chicken and some veg of your choice like mushrooms and peas, if you have some eggs chuck some of them in too. Flavour with spices of your choice, soy sauce or whatever really, be creative :)

one of the main problems is i never eat veg , its not that i dont like it its just that im not its biggest fan and am clueless how to prepare and cook it :/

im thinking about just getting curry sauce and chicken and making mass quantitys . better remember the bog roll un all

maybe i should join some sort of cooking society :S

failure ?

people have to learn how and what to cook somewhere .... why not on a computer forum :D

i dont go in the overclocking sections and call people failures for asking how to overclock , or call people failures for asking track IDs in the music section

obviously the best thing to do would be to join a food forum if such thing exsists but why bother when most people here are so helpful :)

course i can cook "something". i did all my cooking at home

i just don't know whats cheap and ive never had such a tight budget to spend

Get some frozen chicken thighs from supermarket or even a local frozen food shop.

Thaw chicken and remove skin and bone.
roughly dice chicken.
Get a couple of peppers and remove skin over gas flame or in oven by roasting.
chop peppers and remove seeds(can leave them) keep any liquid from peppers.
Boil some rice whilst cooking the chicken in a little oil with crushed garlic and season to taste.
Drain rice and rinse with boiling water.
Tip chicken with peppers into rice and mix.
Add French or Italian dressing to taste and serve with a warm fresh baked baguette

Sweetcorn can be added as well.

frozen peas and an egg - scramble the egg into the rice as you fry it (boil it first and let it cool in the fridge). Most of the world get by on stuff like this so you'll live :)

Alternitively - get a few carrots, turnips, potatoes, handful of pearl barley, about 500g of cubed beef / steak / lamb . Brown meat in a frying pan and throw it all in a pot on the hob with a pint or two of stock to cover. Bring to boil and leave on lowest heat for an hour. Put this into any sealable pots you have (takeaway containers can be good for this) and put in the fridge / freezer.

You should be able to eat for a week from one pot and some bread / smash :)

Turkey is cheaper than chicken, try that.

As Telescopi says, the trick isn't making 1 amazing meal for a pound, it's making 5 meals for a fiver, and freezing 4 of them.

Pasta + Meat or Poulty of choice + Vegetables + Sauce (either home made or bought)

chilli would be good with all that rice. Beef mince, onion, chilli powder, tomatoes, make enough for a small army and freeze the rest. Stick it on jacket potatoes.

omlette!

3 eggs, pack of bacon, some mushrooms, an onion
tons of stuff you can put in them too
maybe with some oven chips/wedges

another thing i've had lately are stirfrys

fillet of chicken, onion, pepper, mushrooms, noodles, sauce - job done :D

Tescos own chicken is cheap, not much more than buying sausages or bacon.

You mean the "value" stuff ... when you start growing extra limbs you know who to come to. (its just pumped full of water so when you cook it, it looks like your willy in the shower) :D

Seriously though, tis still more expensive than bacon or sausages.

Go with Turkey ... cheapest meat there is.
