Buying HL2 Second Hand?

when I got hl2 second hand, I ended up with a carp steam account (which I have since moved on). My advice - buy it off steam.

You would just take his steam account details and change the password. And i would defiantely go for the orange box. And buy CSS seperately. It works out at about £26 for the orange box (includes taxes etc).

I bought HL2 second hand. The guy sent me his account name and password, I changed the password and e-mail address, job done.

I recently sold it on, and just sent the guy my account name and password. I didn't uninstall Steam for a while, but all of a sudden it didn't log on automatically, so I figure he'd got it and changed the password.

I had a bit of trouble buying Episode One second hand, as it was tied to the Steam account of the guy who sold it to me. I had to e-mail Valve the CD key and pictures of the box so that they could unlink it from the old account and hook it up to mine.
