8800gtx driver issues

My pc spec's are in my sig.

I can't install any drivers for my gpu, because it didn't come with any, and that pc doesn't have internet access (due to wifi driver problems),

I've tryed downloading the drivers off the internet and putting them on a CD, then on my new pc, but it doesn't work.

My base score on vista is 1.0, becauase of the graphics!

i know this might sound patronising (and i dont mean it that way) but what happens when you run the exe file you downloaded off your cd on your new PC?
 
well it all installs, and everything, and it says it was successful, but it doesn't actually work for some reason. It says something about it being disabled or something? not sure. I'll have to look tomorow, when i turn it on again.

Also when i copied the files onto the Cd off the pc im on now, it said some of the files could not be copied onto the Cd, wht could they have been?
 
yeah it does, it restrts, but still doesn't work.

hmm.. I'll get some screen shots tomorow for you, might help, rather than me trying to explain lol.

Some?? There should only be 1 and thats the Forceware....exe file. Have you not got a usb memory stick to try instead?

oh and for that 1.0 under graphics in the vista performance thing, you have to click refresh and run the test again to change it once you've installed the driver

nope I don't have anything else like a usb stick, and I can't remember wht the files were that couldn't copy onto the Cd, i'll find out tomorow for you.

yeah I did refresh it, and t didn't help.



could someone please link me to the correct drivers please, because I just wanna check I'm using the write thing.

I've had both and not really seen any difference, I just think the international contains many languages etc, whereas the US one only contains US english files
 
guru3d.com still crashes my internet explorer. I just tryed to download flash player for IE and it crashed aswell. So i tryed downloading firefox, and there was an error towards the end of the download.
 
hmm, is this a fresh install of windows? Something strange is going on.
I remember coming across a problem on xp when an install didn't go on correctly and it stopped install shield installing anything else. trying to remember the fix..

yep it is a new install, everyithing in this system is new.
