Budvar top - nice touch or gay?

When I ordered a pint of Budvar at the local on Sunday the barmaid said something like "Budvar top?" I didn't really know what she meant so I just nodded. Just in case you didn't know, it basically means they add a squirt of lemonade first just to take the bitter edge off.

I have quite a sweet tooth, so I have to say it did improve it for me.

So is this an acceptable pub practice, or as I fear..

Beer/lager tastes like **** anyway, spirits is what you need, no amount of lemonade could make beer/lager taste good. JD + Coke is what you want!, or just JD straight

If you like it, drink it! It is a bit gay but only the bar staff will know. The only problem I can see is that you might as well go for a lower-quality beverage rather than Budvar if you're going to put lemonade in it.
I once ordered a strawberry shortcake cocktail in Chicago Rock, and it came out all pink and with sparklers in it. Now that's gay. Luckily my girlfriend was there to share it with.

i like lager tops, especially if I'm rough but yeah it's pretty gay so you have to be secure about yourself if you want to order it regular.

i've tried the majority of lagers, 1 sip = me throwing up, even the smell makes me wretch
i've tried many milds/bitters from the mainstream to the local ales, they all taste crap, so i drink spirits instead, which i much prefer and i can drink without throwing up
beer just tastes so rough

edit: actually tell a lie, the only one that is "drinkable" that i've tried, which isnt really beer, is mead
