Foreign women rescued from prostitution, send them back?

They should be given asylum.

We're not talking about a vast number of people here, and simple human compassion compels us to take care of them. They've been brought into our country and horribly abused at least in part because of failings in our systems of law and enforcement.

Plus. giving them asylum makes it far more likely that they will come forward and convict their abusers.

Can anyone posting in this at least read the news story first.

They wont as putting their fingers in their ears and ignoring the suffering that these women will most likely go through if they are not allowed to stay is a more pleasing alternative.

"Right" is not always right. Whats more important to everyone, a small amount of money or possibly saving the lives of women who have had a very hard start to life in a far more impoverished area of the world than we live in.

Money is nothing, its a man made concept and should NEVER be put over human life, ever.

But hey what do i know, im just a self righteous hippy who doesnt believe anyone should suffer if it can be avoided. I'll have to try harder, get out my copy of the Daily Mail and polish up my marching boots ASAP i think.

[EDIT]Forgot the quote...[/EDIT]

Most of them will have tried to enter the country illegally anyway. Therefore they should go back. If they are forced back into prostitution in their own countries then they can travel back here and seek asylum.

Nice, come to the UK claim asylum - gates open. No need to check how dodgy you are. Have some money too. Come to rip the system? Ohhhh here you go have a council house too & speak to this guy he'll get you a job.

Smuggled into the UK to be taken advantage of by UK citizens? NAR love you're going home...

Beggars belief sometimes!

dont matter what shes been through, they are not legally aloud to stay here, if it was up to other countrys like australia or tenerife they would be deported within hours of them being found, on the next plane back. Always with england they get their say they can fight it aload of bs as useral.

Well the thing is: if the government let them in, as it seems that they do, then they are legally allowed to stay here. How isn't that painfully obvious to you?

So we should stop any sort of charity of foreign relief that distributes aid outside of this country?

Like others have said, I think I'm going to have duck out of this one as it's only going to contain opinions that make me dispair at how some of you view other people.

Yes yes, you're a lovely warm-hearted person and all that jazz. We get the memo.

The thing is, we are already up to our necks in immigration and illegal trafficking issues. We really cannot afford to keep the gates open. It has a significant impact on our economy and societal structure.

If Albania can't help her, her own country, why the hell are they even a candidate for the EU.
Arghh It makes me mad!

I am of the opinion that because they have also been subject to systematic abuse by British citizens, remaining in the UK is at least some form of compensation for them.

Hmm I always try and avoid these kinds of threads but it's a pickle and I'm not sure which way to lean. First, a new article:

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7026018.stm

Basically an eastern european trafficked into the country and sold to a pimp, resuced by the police and now fighting deportation. If she goes back she may get picked up again and forced back into 'the game'.

Thoughts? Once side of me says that she's been through hell and if she goes back she'll go through it again, so we should act as a safe haven for these people. However on the other hand people go through all kinds of hell across the world, should we take them all in?

Discuss.

nah they can come to my house :)

there are too many mingers in the UK, so its good to get in more fresh meat

too many english birds think its ok to be fat, as a consequence we need more european birds
