Sony's new logo

had a play with it to see what it'd look like on products and it's actually alright.

Companies register new ones all the time, and sometimes they don't get used. As it uses the 4 Playstation buttons, I would imagine it is for current/future Playstation branded products. Can't see any point in changing it for the PS3 atm. It's not like they are market leaders and can afford to confuse the PS3 buying public any more then they already are!!!

Maybe for a new Playstation branded device (future psp or ps4?).

Could be for the Playstation 4. There is no way it'll be called Playstation 4 because the number 4 is unlucky in Asian countries - the way it's pronounced is similar to "death".

lol, when I first clicked the link, I thought "bleh!" (or sounds to that effect)

Now I see Zefan's effort, it made me smile, looks like it's got an inverted cross coming out of the bottom.

Jesus, who the **** do Sony have in their design team. Sack the lot of them, I can't remember the last good looking peice of hardware they made (not including TV's).
 
I... don't get the new logo :/ It doesn't really suit such a serious Japanese company

BTW Nokkon, they make some really good cameras too :)
