Hi all.

Was just wondering who is going boarding this season and where abouts?

Me and the gfriend have a week in Tignes booked for Jan 19th and are trying to look for a cheap trip to Chemonix March 29th for a week.

Cant wait!

Wont be boarding, but I will be sliding most weekends from the moment it starts to fall right through to june time. + will take some days off work and their is also xmas and easter vacation to get some riding done if I can put up with the crowds.

Looking to get 60-70+ days in this year, as long as the snow falls, unlike last year.

Got a new pair of Freerides mounted on my Dyny Legend Pros. I also have a more aggresive pair of crampons and brutal ice-axe to access the more gnarly stuff. There some extreme descents I am aiming for, my old crampons couldn't handle 55* couloirs.

I will mostly be skiing western Switzerland and Eastern France. My local ski hills are Portes-du soleil, verbier, chamonix, les Diblerets, villars, crans-montana, grande st-Bernard, etc. I sometimes head to the bernese oberland (grindlewald, wengen, etc), eastern Valias (Sass-fee, Zermatt, simplon pass).

Anyone want some riding time together or any ski touring in these areas let me know.

hmm, thats a good idea actually. I wasn't going to go this season because I was ment to be getting into the army, but now that is on hold, I may plan a week or two away snowboarding, would be great fun actually heh. Cheers for the idea :p.

If theres any people that are really into Skiing (or other snowsports), I could do with 5 minutes of your time :)
Please add me on msn or email me (blighter [at] blighter.net)

Thanks :)

tignes is guarentted snow so i opted for their again. Plus the first time i went was on a learn to board course so i didnt really make use of all the runs. Plus they have a fair few free blue and green runs so you dont even need to purchase a lift pass so that got the win.

Will spend 3 days getting used to the new board on the free runs and then purchase a 3 day pass half price for the rest of the trip.

Would love to be able to work a whole season. Damn the good job here!

Hopefully going somewhere in the French Alps in Janurary! First time I've been on a Snowboarding holiday, so it should be a good laugh! :)

We learnt to ski in Kranjska Gora in Slovenia last January, learning to ski at 39 is scary!! Fortunately we had a good ski instructor, we stayed in cafe/b+b that was superb, the owner sorted us out a 5 day private tution course with his friend who owned a ski school, we got 2 hours of private tutoring for 5 days, skis, boots, poles and lift passes for £110 for both of us;) absolute bargain. I will never forget coming down a 500m piste for the first time on, definately brown salopettes time:eek:

This year we have a week booked in St Wolfgang, Austria in January, we went walking there in June this year and it was superb, so we are going to see what is like in the winter. Cannot wait!!

I tried Skiing a few times and failed miserably :( Hopefully I can go and learn on some real snow (I hear it's a lot easier?).

To learn you need good tution to build your confidence up. I remember coming off the top of the drag lift and looking down the Mojda piste and the village 530metres below me, looked amazing but scary, but the instructor had built up the confidence in me to ski down the piste safely and in control.

Just been talking about where to go over the last few days, finally its nearly Winter and I can board again.

Currently undecided on where to go, probably the Alps, somewhere relatively cheap I guess with high guarantee of snow as we will probably go in Feb/March.

Cant wait, been 10 months and I need my snowboarding fix

Anyone seen any good deals on boards? Got a Nitro Resistance 162 but wanting something a bit lighter. Was looking at the '08 Burton range, maybe a Bullet as I rode that a couple of days and it felt quite responsive.

Bring on the snow!

So far I have booked for skiing in both Mammoth and Heavenly in March and should hopefully be going back to St. Oswalds in Austria in Feb, hoping for more snow than last year.
