Top 3 go through from each group apparently.

Poor AEK, seem to have caught the hardest group  Panathinaikos should get through it too, Panionios have a good chance, but I fear for Aris (not really  ) - as for Larissa, they have nothing to lose and everything to gain, which might well work in their favour.

Thats not too bad a draw for us. We should be able to see off AaB and Hapoel, depending on what games we have to play at home.

Anderlecht aren't a bad side, but we should be able to beat them, and Spain is always a hard place to go, and Getafe were a decent side last season, not sure how they are doing this season.

That said, we need to start winning games otherwise we won't be progressing.

They announced who the home/away fixtures are against yet?

If the top 3 out of 5 all qualify I'd expect all the english clubs to do so.

On the otherhand Aberdeen have a nightmare group imo.

Yeah, Aberdeen have managed to avoid all the 'big guns', but they've managed to get themselves in possibly the worst group with regards to qualification :(

In most of the other groups, I reckon that 3rd place looks a realistic possibility - but in this group they could finish anywhere. None of the teams are particularly weak in the group (except maybe us ;) :p) Still will be good to see the Dons back in Europe!!

I was hoping we'd get Aberdeen in our group.

Any idea of who is playing home/away? Spurs got a nightmare draw last time!

Just been on SSN, the bookies are offering 2/1 on any other team than the top so many winning it.

Any Other Team 2/1
Bayern Munich 4/1
Tottenham 9/1
Atletico Madrid 12/1
Villarreal 14/1
Fiorentina 16/1
Everton 20/1
Leverkusen 25/1
Hamburg 25/1
Az Alkmaar 25/1

On the surface it looks like we've stayed away from some of the bigger teams in the tournament and could well progress.

but we seriously need to look at our defending set peice's and give robinson a rest for a few games and let him get his head back together.

I think this seasons draw is harder than last seasons. In all fairness we fell against the only really decent side we played in last seasons competition, and that was because of a dodgy referee and a shocking opening half hour at White Hart Lane.

Ouch, Bolton aren't having much luck this season. Chances are they'll have a new manager anyway before those fixtures take place :p

I've said it numerous times on numerous forums, we miss a leader. Dawson / Kaboul are not leaders, Keane, IMO, isn't, Robbo is struggling.

I think Zokora would be a good captain. He's a battler, can now speak the language and looks to have finally settled into English football.

I reckon Spurs might struggle. Two tricky sides (Hapoel and Anderlecht) away, and Getafe at home. They'll still most likely go through, but it'll help if they remember how to win by then.

Bolton could get third without too much trouble, and Everton look to have a simple enough group. Harsh on Aberdeen, but at least they should get to play some big teams.
