kaspersky causing slow start up

i have been using kaspersky internet security for a while now with no problem, now when i start my pc it takes a minute or so before my wlan icon and kaspersky icon appear in the tray, i have disabled the wlan device and its still the same, i have disabled kaspersky and its stil the same, if i uninstall kaspersky the wlan loads as it should and i can use the pc quickly.

i then defragmented my c drive and reinstalled kaspersky but now its back to taking a while o load at start up,

any suggestions what could be the problem as it was fine a week or so ago

Try disabling the scan at startup option?

tried that and it did not help i even tried disabling all protection and still no joy, the only way it helped was if i uninstalled it
