Its my thread and its my opinion. And I have had enough experience in the professional sector to come to this conclusion.

My opinion is that in my experience I've never come across any of those attributes you've mentioned just because someone uses a Mac over a PC. I find it hard to believe that the type of computer you chose to use gives you some divine skills as a designer/video editor/sound tech. You may have met some people who feel like that. I feel sorry for them. You can't really tar every Mac user with that stereotype though.

incorrect i use them all the time at school, and there OK, but mac os x isn't all it's cracked up to be. but my argument is basically PC's are better value for money, i think having macs and pc's is good, it adds diversity, and more choice, just wish they had more substance.

to be honest I find it hard to believe how a school goer would have used mac osx in such a capacity to know if it is really 'all its cracked up to be'. I would suggest you maybe use one or two apps on mac? I accept macs are more expensive but you get what you pay for I believe.

I don't understand. If you build a PC and install Windows XP or non-media centre capable Vista you won't be able to play DVD's.

You'd have to buy DVD software or download VLC.

But if you buy a PC off-the-shelf, as you do with a Mac, it'd be perfectly capable of playing DVDs.

JUst beacuse something costs more does not make it better.

Typical mac user attitude tbh:rolleyes:

I use them in music tech, so no i probly havn't "fully" experienced os x.

Mate have you been drinking? You are spouting the biggest pile of ****! Do you realise how daft that sounds what you are saying?

Naw man, no money to go out tonight :(

Maybe cause the macs at college suck i have such a skewed view of them but

They really do SUCK.

Windows Media player is capable. But thats not the point anyway, I uderstand your point, you get more software out of the box with a mac don't you?

Thats fine but you pay for it. Surely its worth 30 minutes of your time to download free software for everything you need. Since theres a massive Open Source community out there its easy to get software that will do what you need, do it well and do it cost effectively (resource wise).

Fireskull - forget it. it doesn't matter. If you really dont want to give up in understanding, copy and paste all of my posts from this thread and the posts directly connected to them into a text document and have a good read at them.

You didnt but if i liked something i would not wish it harm lol
Well I do, as it wouldn't harm me as I use AV.

Protection by arrogance or denail ("no viruses infect macs!!!!11111oneoneone") isn't a good defence.... the Romans proved that methinks.

I just don't like fanboys of any description.... someone the the other day at work said "I can't believe you go to Cafe Nero when Starbucks is soooo much better and doesn't taste of ****".

It is also further away, more expensive and I get less. Somehow, that seems a fitting analogy to the mac vs. pc debate :)

Oh and iMovie sucks

For video editing we use Imageready and imovie

I mean WTF

Is Windows Movie Maker better?

No, so your problem is with a program that is free. Why not use one of the other 10+ movie editing programs for Mac?

Because the school won't let you? Hardly an argument against Macs then, more like an argument against your school.
