Not always but granted 90% of the time.

But then the gap closes value for money wise. The reason I self-built was partly because it was cheaper. And it probably won't be as good looking/quiet etc, since your limited to the basic Dell towers.

One thing I'll definately give macs is battery life. I used to have a little iBook G4. Battery lasted HOURS.

i got xp soon as it came out, so that might be why, and it was a pre-built aswell.
 
Noob college with e macs

Across they way they have some huge widescreen macs that look pretty cool but we arnt aloud near them

I probably have more experience than you using macs.

I have complete command over both OS.

By beef isn't with the OS its with the users on the whole.

personally i don't pay hundred of pounds premium for what you would call better software, when it isn't and even if it is it's only margianlly better.

Mate you do video editing in college right? And you say them apps are for students? Since when did film makers come under the category of students? Also many freelance video editors who work for the BBC use final cut pro too? Also FCP costs 800+... hardly an app that students would be encouraged to use would it??

No,

I graduated a number of years ago.

And now work in the industry.

There are better programs than final cut pro.
