best media player?

as title what's the best media player? wmp is annoying me atm and i hate itunes lol

There isn't a 'best'. Try them all and settle with one you feel comfortable with. I recommend Winamp for your next tryout.

VLC is VERY Good also!
Plays everything u throw at it when media player will not player a video

I used to use media player classic. But these days using media player with the vista codec pack. Plays everything, and it doesn't have the slight issue which mpc has when a uac prompt appears.

Just turn UAC off its a waste of time.

It only pops up these days when I install things. Plus media player has the mp3 library which mpc doesn't have. And I hate itunes so media player does everything in one.

I've been using Songbird recently after I saw Winamp 5.5. I'm quite liking it so far

Just iTunes for my music. I don't particularly like it as a player, but its convienient as its all synced for my iPod.

And VLC for video. Great program. Could do with better WMV support, by that I mean I notice corruption in video when using the slide bar to access parts of the video. Something the same videos don't do using WMP.

Looks like Winamp and WMP etc. I don't get why you need so many features for something that sits in your taskbar out of sight for 99% of the time doing nothing but playing music. That is why I use Foobar2000.

Exactly. It doesn't have a fancy skin or pointless special features. It is just a simple, powerful tool that works flawlessly.

Use with ffdshow for added goodness

Mine didn't come in a tin though, I feel ripped off
