First off I should state that I consider my PC to be stable - the only time it locks up on me under normal circumstances is if I accidentally overclock the graphics card without remembering to change the voltage (oops!).
That said, I can't get through the video intro of HL2:EP2 without a BSOD, every single time. First one mentioned ha10kx2k.sys (Creative driver I think), 2nd time it was atikmdag (ATI), a couple of other attempts just resulted in a hard lock with no BSOD but garbled sound. It doesn't seem to matter whether I run HL2:EP2 from the moment I start my PC (i.e. everything cold) or after I've used it for a bit, etc.
I've run Memtest+ and it's shown no errors, I'm underclocking my PC from what I already know it's stable at, I haven't had any problems with any other game including Portal, TF2, etc.
I'm running the latest Catalyst 7.10 drivers, with the ATI Smart service disabled (as I've always run it, as I use ATITool for overclocking).
Anyone got any thoughts?
