Posted in another tread and got wondering, what strange things did you do as kids?

I didn't speak until I was 2 and a half. Not a "mama", "dada" or anything at all as far as I'm told. Then when my parents started getting worried and booked me in to see a speach therapist I just started coming out in full fluent sentences :confused:. Probably didn't like the sound of seeing a therapist lol :D

My parents also had to get a little clip type thing to keep me out of the fridge as my favourite hobby as a toddler was to stand and throw eggs on the floor :p

When I was about 8 or 9 I thought I'd put a newspaper in the toaster, just "to see what happened" and instead of putting it out on the tiled kitchen floor I ran with it into the carpeted back room and dropped it  before stamping it out. Needless to say I wasn't in the parents good books!

So what about you guys...

I'm not such an idiot anymore btw!

Couldn't skip properly for years when i was a wee lad, Skip with my right leg, hop with my left.

Used to drive my mam nuts walking to school, then she'd look a tool showing me how to skip properly :D

I used to be a crazy kid! I used to bite and spit on people and swear at them all before the age of 5 also used to hold my breath til I passed out if I went into one of my tantrums.

My whole family had to go with me to psychiatrists and other places and sometimes we had to stay the weekend. Was going to be sent to a school for mentally disabled people but I got put on a trial in a normal school and once I started school I was fine. Weird to think how different my life might've been if that had happened.

Apparently i never crawled. I was a fair bit old and my mum n dad were worrying that i wasnt even crawling yet, until one day i just stood up and walked away.

I used to be obsessed with the Schmeerskahoven :D

"Put your hands on your head then poke your belly, don't be afraid if it jiggles like jelly... ahhhh Schmeerskahoven!" :D

I used to do this! Only i'd draw faces on them first, introduce myself, say goodbye.. then drop.

Strange strange child.

I also had a weird obsession with flashing my genitalia. :(

i cant remember any :( thinking about it, i cant remember being a kid at all.. thinking even more about it, was i even ever a kid?!?!? :O

I had an imaginary friend who lived in my bedroom wall, I would sit for hours talking to him, his name was "Gunnel in the tunnel"
:D

Unravalling toilet paper and cassette tapes, oh and feeding the washing machine coal. Parents didn't know where I got the coal from either and tbh neither do I. :P

I used to rip a teabag up in the toilet, then flush it down...Also feed teabags to my dog Dan. I don't actually like tea now, I prefer coffee.

None that I can remember ...

One of my cousins had a funny habit, whenever he finished eating, to let everyone know he was done he'd throw his plate on the floor :p don't think his parents were too happy with that :D

I'm told I hardly ever crawled either but instead I used to roll across the floor to get to where I wanted to be!

I was a good talker though and had a better vocab than my cousin who was a year older then me.

Can't remember anything from when I was too young, but when I flushed the toilet I used to always try run downstairs before it finished :D

cant remember me doing anything strange. I did teach my little brother to hit old people on the forehead with the palm of his hand and shout 'Chicken Poo Splat'.

Not a habit but my claim to fame as a kid was kicking Tony Hart in the shins :o

I was a right odd kid with OCD tendancies like emptying my box of toy cars on the floor (I had hundreds of them) and lining them up in colours... then puting them straight back in the box again

Ahhh well I used to hide one of my dads shoes that use to annoy him a lot... especially when going to work, and he used to have to hunt around the house for them!

Stelly

Used to do a similar thing with the kitchen cupboard, I would push it just enough to so it was start closing and then I would have run and be over the line that seperated the kitchen floor from the hall carpet before it slammed.

I did this for years!

When I first started Nursery - They all thought I was deaf.....as when they used to say my name.. I never responded.

The teachers advised by mum to get my hearing checked....

DOH!! - In the end, they discovered, that I never actually knew what my proper name was - As everyone at home always called me by my nick name.

LOL
