OcUK Official G-Meter Top 20 - Now ADDED Nürburgring Lap times (BTG)

Going from Saloon to Estate has proved useful...

5.34secs for the Legnum Vr4:

Dont worry, ill count the uphill :)

I stopped to take the picture in town and not in the middle of the main road into town :)

That was after 2 launches.

It has a fair bit more done to it.

This one is 260hp at the wheels and the last was about 220hp.

The last one was also a tiptronic and this just had a new exedy/pro shop lida clutch flywheel combo to handle the power.

Can be assed writing the spec at the moment, but still on standard turbos.

I reckon a few more tries would get it down to 5, as i hit the rev limiter on 1st gear for a bit of time.

Finally managed to bag a gmeter off ebay, had a quick play earlier and managed to get a 6.71s 0-60 which I was quite pleased about, shall have a proper play when the roads quieten down and got used to how it works.

Finally got a good go yesterday with mine in the 172. First run had a bit of wheelspin and got a 6.53 I think. Second run was 6.35, third was 6.37.

Can I post timeslips of 1/4 runs and a KPro data (My ECU can datalog my cars speed over time along with a whole host of other tricks) log for showing 0-62?

Well I had a go today after having a bit of fettling done and today I managed 6.21s 0-60 and 15.22 qtr mile using my g meter. By comparison the best I managed before was 6.82 and 15.85 respectively.

0-60
1/4 Mile

(Ignore my Kelly Clarkson on in the background ;))

In order. Bear in mind it's my first ever 1/4 mile and I'm useless at launching. First one seemed to go well, though I short shifted first and span a bit in second (other car was a Skyline).

Second run was better, but once again launching the car is my weak point. Span first up quite a bit and second only just gripped (other car was a Supra).

Last run was abysmal. My ECU decided that it would give me zero power for about a second before the exhaust made an almighty bang and I was off. The time isn't bad considering the poor start (other car was a standard DC5).

I enjoyed myself today, 1/4 mile is good fun. It's very hard to remember what you did and how you can improve. The bit between waiting for the lights and finally getting into 3rd/4th is over in an instant.

Think I'll stick to tracks from now on, corners excite a lot more.

EDIT Video coming later. Car is Integra Type R DC5

Hey all! :D

The Motors section of the Forums isn't exactly my neck of the woods. Anyway, I love the Nurburgring ciruit and practically know the track layout in my head. Not quite back to front although now when I think about it I probably do! :) Anyway, I'm going to go to the track in the next few years with a mate who lives nearby. But what I would like to know is where you guys are getting the cars with to set these lap times? I take it most people if not all are setting the times in their own cars am I right? But is it possible to rent out a reasonably fast car at the track for the day? I'm extremely competitive, and would like to know how I would fare. The quickest time on the OCUK forums is some time indeed!

Thanks guys.

If you go on the track (especially having never driven it in real life) being competitive then you will more then likely crash. Sorry but that's the way it is.

Go on it, take your time till you get used to it and most importantly enjoy yourself.

The worst thing you can ever do on the 'Ring is to race yourself or others. The track bites and it bites very hard indeed.

Naturally I'll be taking it fairly easy for the first couple of laps to get a feel for the track. I generally don't like going faster than I feel I am safe to do so. I'm aware of the numbers that crash and the number of people who have died there on track days too. Its the most demanding and dangerous circuit bar none! Yeah, I'll be taking my time alright. Going around this track is something that I have been talking about for some time. I'll just be trying to gradually better my own time. I'm never going to get on the OCUK leaderboard, I can tell you that for free! :p Is it possible to rent out powerful cars at the track?

Thanks.
