Seems my NB fan has died an my PC has recently been shutting down by itself, could I put this down to the chip set overheating due to a dead fan? I originally blamed my PSU and bought new. It was an upgrade that needed doing so no worries there, anybody?

Sorry what are you asking.? If the fan has gone on the chipset, it's not overclocked and there is a heat sink present it should be ok. However, in this case, there is a likelyhood thats its causing the system to overheat causing random restarts.

As for upgrading, go for it.

Sorry for not being too clear, basically im asking if a random shutdown is a symptom of the NB overheating due to the fan not running. It was recently overclocked so im hoping it hasnt endured any damage due to it not running.
