Top Gear in trouble, again.

Is a studio in an aerodrome technically a public place?

I mean, i'm fairly sure I couldn't just go strolling in there of my own will should I fancy a look around :p

Why on earth are studio's public places, it's a building owned by a company and they invited guests, are they going to whine too when I throw a party on my birthday in my home and some guy starts smoking?

I don't know what the fuss is all about.

Not that I'm sticking up for the article, but a studio is a public place in the same way a football ground, a concert venue or a nightclub is. You have to meet certain criteria to enter (ie. have a ticket) but any members of the public can get in there if they have a ticket.

Because the definition of public place in the smoking laws makes no sense ;)

FFS! Why the **** does anybody care. If the BBC own the premises and nobody is bothered that they lit pipes up.... then why the fudge is somebody complaining.

At the end of the day why not spend money on making a law like the Scottish House market and the way you have to buy houses in Scotland. If you verbally agree to buy a house in Scotland its a bound contract. In England you can pull out of the sale up until the last minute and dont have to play for anything!

that would be money well spend... except england tries and makes people unhappy. Im not a smoker but never minded people smoking in pubs.

That was what I was going to say, surely you have to meet certain criteria to get in so technically its not open to joe public to just walk in.

Erm, if it has 3 walls and a ceeling then its classed as a public area apparantly, if people are allowed there its public, now quarantined, that would be different, light up if u wish, be prepared to die tbh tho lol, probably summin there which would kill you..

forgiven due to your unstable nature reflected in your other posts ;)

Unstable nature? you think so?

Smoking in a studio is illegal. We would hope programme-makers make some form of apology," said a spokeswoman for Action on Smoking and Health (Ash).

Knives and guns are illegal too .... try putting some of your vociferous energy into lobbying against that, or are pipe smokers such a real threat to the nation ?

In this day and age I would't be suprised if the government had a specific unit tasked to fight pipe crime.

As childish as it sounds I would consider taking up smoking just to p*** her off. I really cannot stand such a fuss over such a trivial matter.

who are they going to apologise to?

if nobody in the audience complained you cant apologise to them

are they expected to apologise to the public who were offended WATCHING them smoke whilst not actually having to breathe in the smoke? how the blinkin flip did it affect them if there were not actually there?

dear lord almighty..words fail me

...and a studio is also a place of work, where smoking is also banned.
