Advice for a Guy to Dance!!

As most of the guys have said, get to a class. We cant teach you how to dance over the Internet.

But if you cant feel the beat that is the bit you will most struggle with: rhythm. Listen to music with strong beats and tap your foot to it, if you can keep the timing and tapping to the song then thats a good first step.

I don't really understand how someone could not find a beat. Its a certain part of the song where there's a specific noise. Usually percussion, sometimes bass.

If you can't get that bit you will always look daft :)

Yeah, if someone is in a carpet club and taking themselves very seriously (even if they're decent dancers) its very funny :)

Just go to dance classes. I learnt to Salsa ages ago with my sister, and whilst that may have been an embarrassing hobby which I kept hidden from everyone, I can now Salsa. And so now I go to Salsa once a month, and can dance.

Believe me, its worth it. A class of 30 people, 2-3 guys, and a competent dancer? The ladies love it.

I did the same thing except with a female friend rather than a sister. I found it rather nice to be one of the only guys there in all honesty, and I'm sure the girls appreciated it :)

Just find the nearest guy, push him as hard as you can into the surrounding crowd of slack-jawed chavs you invariably get at these clubs! Now sit back and watch with pride as, with any luck, you've just started your very own pit! :)

Can I vote you go do ceroc instead? It's much more accessible than salsa, will give you a more general load of tricks and my friend runs a ceroc night :D

just do what i do at rock night, get a bit tipsy and go for it anyway. the only difficulty is first standing up and getting in after that all is well.

but rock nights are very different from clubbing, a older* crowd and no one cares about what people are dressed like or act like as long as you arent violent.

*we were surrounded by lasses in i would guess there mid 30's. many who were mighty fine.

never going clubbing again.
